This sentence has modifier issue.

A. Minivans carry as many as seven passengers and, compared with most sport utility vehicles, cost less, (Here Minivans utility is compared with SUVs – Eliminate it)

B. Minivans, which carry as many as seven passengers, compared with most sport utility vehicles, they cost less, (Modifier issue - Here Minivans utility is compared with SUVs and Pronoun referent issue – Eliminate it)

C. Minivans carry as many as seven passengers, in comparison with most sport utility vehicles, and have a lower cost, they (Modifier issue - Here Minivans utility is compared with SUVs and Pronoun referent issue – Eliminate it)

D. Minivans, carrying as many as seven passengers, compared with most sport utility vehicles, cost less, (“Minivans” correctly compared with SUVs – Hold it)

E. Minivans, which carry as many as seven passengers, compared with most sport utility vehicles the cost is lower, and they (Definitely not – lower ?)
