Edit: Removed my reply which had some incorrect info as MacFauz provided a great overview.

Actually, if you had an ID problem, I think you can contact GMAC and inform them about the same... Since you never sat for the test, you should be allowed to retake it within 31 days.. Although you would have to pay the $250 again... The same happened to me.. I had entered my name wrong and it did not match with my ID and I was not allowed to sit for the test.. This happened on the 8th of November... I notified GMAC after which I rescheduled the test and took it on the 15th of November...

Thanks a lot Mac.
That gives me a lot of relief!!

Also, could u guide me the procedure for the same?
Do i need to call the customer care? Or can i do it online?

I tried registering again online but it says I cant register within 31 days. Do i wait for a day or so, maybe allow their systems to refresh or something?

The proctor at the test centre gave me a number I could contact and he also submitted an incident report on my behalf.... Actually by the time I got home and opened my GMAC account, my details were already updated... I suggest you call their customer care number and let them know of your situation... They should be able to clear the matter up.. In the meantime, you could also post your concerns over here

Hope it works out well for you.. All the best.. :)
