They probably won't start looking at applications until after the holidays is my guess. Last year they were about a week late to getting out invites to interview from what I remember. They will be letting you know if you get an interview in the beginning of January. Last year they called the applicants. Did anyone go to LGO preview day?

I think they want all the initial invitations out by the 6th. That doesn't mean everyone will get their invite by then though. They interviewed until the middle of February last year.

Did you go to LGO preview day?

No extra views on my presentation yet. I think you may be right, they are waiting until after the holidays to begin the in depth reviews.

I went to ambassador and preview days and they were both fantastic.

Hey all, just saw that my youtube video got a new view today. It must be the adcom because I made the video limited view, only accessible with the exact video link.

I used Google docs to submit entry, and mine shows a few hits on December 4th-5th from US. Can't be sure from where though. :-)

Does anyone know roughly what % of applicants are invited to interview and/or what % of interviewees are accepted? I can't find this info anywhere...

45-50 applicants total are accepted. It depends on how many people apply that that percentage would change. I think they interviewed 100 last year if my memory serves me correctly. Last year they said about 80% of applicants who get into the program had attended LGO Preview Day.

This is also directly from their website.

"MIT SOE APPLICATION: LGO Interviews: selected candidates will be invited to the MIT campus for an interview. We hope to send out initial interview invitations by January 10, although you could receive an interview request later than that. Applicants are strongly encouraged to interview in person at MIT, but other solutions will be available if necessary (especially for international candidates)."

I'm glad that the process is quite fast and the interview invites will come out soon. Anyone else here also thinking of applying to the SDM program as well?
Also anyone know what the usual size of applicant pool?

My guess...

MIT LGO Program
Applied: ~500
Interviewed: ~100
Admitted: ~65
Enrolled: ~45-50

Sloan's overall yield rate is about 65% but I'm guessing LGO's would be higher, perhaps around 70-75%.

Does this seem (approximately) correct?

Really only ~500 apply? I find that number a bit low considering how prestigious it is...

It could be more, but considering the relatively specific qualifications required, I'd imagine it's probably not too much higher.
