Sorry to hear awfulgmat!

Any other international applicants that have received a package or a call (other than LGOgirl)? So far Guille and I have not heard anything; there was also a girl from Scotland and a guy from... I think Japan. I don't know though if they are in the forum.

Awfulgmat, when you got your ding letter did it mention anything about the timelines for acceptance just to the Sloan program? I know we were supposed to be put into the 2nd round for the regular MBA program?

mschlanz, I just talked to Vicky (I called) and she said that if you receive a negative response you are considered for Sloan R2 and the results of that are out on April 5th (and I believe those are posted, not mailed)

Have any of you heard of anybody who applied through LGO, got rejected, but got admitted into Sloan R2? Just trying to gauge what are my chances, and whether I should realistically wait for April 5.

Once I asked a current student and he told that there have been cases of LGO dings that were later accepted in Sloan.

A major issue for this to happen I guess its in how you focused your application. If on essays and interviews you went very hardcore engineering and said all you wanted was engineering, I wouldnt put my chances on getting to Sloan.

It's official, got my ding in the mail today.

Out of curiosity, did any of the other ding letters have a line about what their rationale was? Mine had something that mentioned getting more experience then applying again. This might be some generic mass print but I'm only 23 and would have had about 1 & 1/2 yrs experience had I gotten accepted so it seems pretty accurate for my situation. Given this the fact that they even invited me for an interview has me pretty confident I'll be in their program soon enough.

As a current Sloan first year, I heard there were about 4-5 that were dinged from LGO and admitted to Sloan later, so don't lose hope, it is possible! I heard last year's LGO class was so competitive that they did not need to resort to a waitlist and that 4-5 number was fairly high (in the past it may be 1-2)... hope this helps.

Hi all,
I'm also an international applicant, interviewed weeks after the interview fest but haven't heard anything so far. I had a missed call from a US number last Friday, but no message. Quite strange there is only one intern. applicant on this forum that has received a call (if I remember correctly), maybe they don't call internationals- at least I hope so...

All the best,

Is the missed call from a 617 area code? If it is, chances are that it was from them. I do not know if they call all accepted students, but talking about international applicants, at least LGOgirl was called, so...

All, I received my decision letter in the mail last night and found out I was waitlisted for LGO and still under consideration for Sloan. Is this a good sign or something they told all of the dings?

I think it is a great sign!!!

April 7 is the deposit date for LGO and it is possible someone might not matriculate then a spot will open for you. Being waitlisted by LGO means they want you and you are a high-caliber applicant. You have 2 shots left (LGO and Sloan R2) while many people here have been dinged outright by LGO.

GOOD LUCK

Excellent news, congratulations! I would recommend you read some forums on what to do if you are waitlisted.

A couple of questions, were you ever called? Are you an international applicant?

I was not called. I am not international.

I am not sure about the number of spots. Right now they invite around 55 and traditionally 4-5 turn it down. Does that mean I would get a spot if there are > 50 people or >= 55 people? Or how many other people are on the waitlist? etc. So many questions....

As far as I know, the target is 50. I have no clue about the number of people they invite to the waitlist
