B: both of A and also of B is not correct. Should be both of A and of B
C, D have a similar problem
E as well is unnecessary.

To me A seems to be the best option, although I don't like any of these.
B. both... and also is improper, although its parallel
C. same as B but not parallal
D. should be not only... but also
E. confused because E looks good too, its parallal concise.

A
"free of X and Y as well" is correct.
B,C,D are straight out. "both X and Y" is correct not "both X and also Y"
Use of "as well" seems wrong in E. "both of X and of Y as well" is not ||.

My guess is E.
I think A is incorrect because it is incorrect to tack 'as well' to the end of the sentence without first clairfying (with both, or something like also) that more than one item will be mentioned.
B, C & D do not work because it is redundant to use 'both' and 'also' in this way.
E works because it starts with both, and then the 2 clauses match with 'of drug...' and 'of prejudicial...'.

Good explanation mate !
I chose A too ....
... free of X(drug dependency) and Y(other' prejudicial treatment) - here as well to completely the sentence is redundant.
And quite contrary to expectations ... as well in the final choice actually makes more sense and is idiomatic.

1.free of the dependency, but free from the treatment.
