So, I was browsing the Darden website and they made reference to PR rankings (Darden professors #2) based on 18,000 surveys conducted with students last year along with data provided by the schools. Check out this list of most selective schools (along with my commentary for your enjoyment).

1. Harvard (Obviously)
2. Stanford (Obviously)
3. Columbia (I had been thinking this might be the case)
4. Wharton (No surprise)
5. MIT (No surprise, this place scares me)
6. Northwestern (about right for this ultra-elite)
7. Berkeley (had always heard it was as tough as the ultra-elites because of location and size)
8. Dartmouth (have been hearing that it has been getting much tougher to get into)
9. NYU (I'm a bit surprised, but given its location and huge applicant pool I can believe it)
10. University of Massachusetts - Amherst (WTF????? I saw this and thought I was looking at some other rankings. I refuse to believe this.)
So, nothing too surprising at the top of this list. Actually, it confirms some things that I have believed all along. I do wonder where Chicago is, they can't be far behind. I'm just slack-jawed by that last one. I looked it up on BW and saw that they admitted 23% (18% the year before) and had a yield of 82%. Impressive, but do they really get the same quality of applications as these other places?
The quest to narrow my list continues...
