This thread is a discussion about movies you have seen recently, from old classics to recent releases.
Last week I saw The Departed. It was great. Jack Nicholson's performance stole the entire movie.

Saw "Miami Vice" last weekend and wasn't exactly thrilled with Colin Farrel's performance. He just can't substitute for Don Johnson, sorry. Action was descent, though. Learjets, Scarabs, Hummers, and especially the fire from the Ferrari's exhaust pipes- as it speeds along the Intracoastal Highway- raises the audience's pulse. Oh yeah, at 39, Gong Li is still HOT Overall a (B-).

Next on the list is the new 007 "Casino Royale."

I saw basic instinct 2...sharon stone is getting old and she acts like she's 30... it's just so pathetic...bi 2 is one of those movies that is so bad but it's so good...the last 10 minutes of the ending is the best part of the film but still it doesn't redeem the quality of the whole movie...

Have you seen Borat-The Movie?
I saw it and I'm with mixed emotions about it. Some people think it's histerical, others are kind of offended. What do you think?

Borat looks funny, but wasn't out in my town. Did it only appear in a few towns?

Borat was only out on about 800 screens, and is hilarious.
If you're offended by it thats fine, but you should also be offended by plenty of the regular Americans in the movie

Cus they have seen the original Hk version.
I'm a chinese fan too. It didn't bother me to watch the same story again. But I like how the US version interprets the film differently. I don't want to go into further details but you know what I mean if you have seen both movies.

People who have watched the original version gave low ratings to the hollywood remake. That is why I didn't go to watch.
After all, i have been avoiding Holywood sh!ts in recent years. They only know sequals after sequals, adaptions from books and computer games, and remake other or old films. hmmm.

Finally I get to see Borat.
It's funny in the beginning, but the jokes run out of steam towards the end. I can see why people find it offensive, but one reason why pp love borat is because of his sincerity. People like to talk white lies but borat doesn't seem to care much. There's not really much of a story here...it's just borat goofying around everywhere he goes. The credit design is so cheesy and the sound mix of the film is terrible.

Wow singapore allow this type of movie to be shown? That is surprising...
the amount of sex jokes in this movie would be enough to make this movie banned in singapore

haha.
maybe they will censor some of the sex jokes, and put it on a maturity rating. I am going to see whether it is censored before I decide to watch it.
Hey, prostitution is not illegal here at least. lol. so u can guess how twisted the government's policy is, but all are twisted towards the $.

I watched Borat almost 1 month ago. It was hilarious, but was offensive as well to some people. I felt it even though I am neutral in most of the sensitive topics.

Here
Not much story, just action (the "man-ness").
Was entertaining tho.
How much do movie tickets cost in the US???
Here in Korea, it's around $7~8 per adult.
