(1) Mrs. Lisa and Mr. Kip together stand 5 out of 8 chances of being selected in the chorus group.
(2) If Mr. Kip is selected in the chorus group, then Mrs. Lisa is also selected in the chorus group.

let's take (1)
though it is given that Mr. Kip has been selected in the chorus group, however hou much chance he had for the selection was not given...hence insufficient
IMO we need not to combine both 1 and 2, since it is given initially that Mr. Kip has been selected in the chorus group so if she is already selected then 100 % chance that Mrs. Lisa is also selected in the chorus group...

I do agree with rajeevrks27, even though the question might try to trab you.

(1) is clearly not enough
(2) If, then... as Ms Kip has been selected already the chance is 100%
