MS Accounting 2nd Tier [#permalink] New post 01 Oct 2009, 16:51
I need to find a grad program that I could be competitive in.... I only want a 1 year program.
I have only taken 4 accounting courses. 2 principles, 1 financial, 1 statement analysis...

I have an undergrad degree Finance degree from Va Tech.
3.0 GPA (3.4 upper level)
650 GMAT

I want to go to a well respected school that is also cost effective. I have already applied to VT MS accounting.

What schools will I be competitive for...?

Just curious, what are your motives for the MS? Are you planning on working in public accounting after graduation? If that is the case, then I would say that you should just check to see at which schools accounting firms recruit (i.e. if you want big 4, then look to see which schools the big 4 visit). Its not as "competitive" as you would think. In my mind, if I was in your situation, I would try and see what gives me the biggest bang for my buck as far as schools and exposure to accounting firms go.

BTW, your GMAT score would be pretty good for most programs I would think.
