MS in accounting admission [#permalink] New post 21 Sep 2011, 18:27
I'm one of an international students at Ohio State.
I got 1yr left to graduate, and I'm trying to apply Macc programs.
Cumulative GPA is 3.96
Prepared for GMAT about 3wks
Q 48 V 34 Total 660
I see the score that I got is just an average for those who got into Michigan Ross B school.
It was slightly higher than those of students who got into UVA Mcintire (633 was the avg score)
I requested my transcripts to be sent to Ohio state, UVA, and UIUC on the test day.

Now, I'm seriously concerned about whether to retake GMAT or not.
Lots of schools require international students to submit applications no later than December or the first week of January.

I don't think my GMAT score is high enough to get into UT.
But, I'm not sure either for those schools that I mentioned above.

Here's a list of schools that I'm considering

UT, U michigan, Vanderbilt, Notre dame - reach school
UIUC, Ohio state, UVA - possible

What do you guys think of the possibility that I would be accepted for those schools with current GPA & GMAT score?

appreciate any replies :)

You want to go for a masters in accounting? If so, just apply to University of Rochester (Simon school). The accounting program there is ranked in the top 5 (if not first) globally. Tuition is reasonable and they have top placement. Your GPA should be enough.

Thanks for replying.
I know there are other few nice schools that also provide MS accounting courses, but I'm interested in schools where there are lots of Korean students.
One of the most important things to consider is the number of alumnus that I'll get a chance to talk to, and I thought those schools that I mentioned accept lots of international students who also came from my home country.
I'm just wondering what are the possibilities that I would get into those schools with my current GMAT score and GPA.
Thanks though.
