MS in Finance for a CFA Level I applicant? [#permalink] New post 30 Aug 2011, 13:18
Hi,

I am taking the CFA Level I in December which I expect to pass, but right after I will be applying for an MS in Finance.
The problem is, my undergrad grades are not good enough for most B-Schools.

Does any of you know about an MS in Finance that requires good GMAT + good CV but does not care about grades?

The only one I've found is Instituto de Empresa (they will accept you if you pass CFA Level I).

Thanks!

I know for my particular MSF program will more than likely accept you if you passed the CFA level 1 and it would waiver the GMAT.

I'm actually taking mine come June 2012. Hopefully i'll pass haha.

With a strong GMAT and passing L1 your UG grades should not hinder you that much.

Thank you guys for the info.
@vwjetty Can you please tell me what Msc Finance you are talking about?
@Anthony: Would you consider 700 a strong GMAT score?

Edit: I see from your stats and a little bit of googling that VCU states for Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business

A 700 GMAT is a great score. Don't worry about that, focus on other parts of your application.

google's your friend  but yeah, vcu, nothing special. cheap, in-state, public university. mainly going here because, well, it's cheap, and they're giving me a few scholarships, one including this cfa level 1 exam, so i figured why not lol
