Msc Finance - suitable for breaking out of big4 audit? [#permalink]
30 Aug 2011, 01:12
Hey guys,
to put it bluntly i was unsuccessful in landing any jobs in finance, be it IB or corporate banking at a commercial bank.
I'm in my first year of work in audit and i'm honestly not happy with the job. I'm now looking at studying an Msc Finance as both a way to change my career and to make up for my lack of pro-activeness in my undergrad.
My question is, is the Msc Finance suitable for my goals? Or is the program more suitable for those already in the industry. Also which schools are less quant based?
i'm thinking of studying in Hong Kong (HKU, HKUST or CUHK). i know it's no where near as prestigious as the USA or European schools, but i hope to work in HK as well.
Any other recommendations on where i should take my career?
If it means anything, i'm from Australia. Our universities are not well recognised internationally.
