MSc Marketing = Lower GMAT Average? [#permalink] New post 17 Mar 2012, 23:59
Hello! I've been reading this forum for awhile now but I haven't had any questions that weren't already answered or discussed - til now. :) I was wondering - Do MSc programs generally have lower average GMAT acceptance rates than MBA programs?

I take the GMAT in two weeks and I suspect I'll score somewhere between 560 - 610. My scores have been all over the place, with my highest at 620 and my lowest at 550. I know my scores aren't fantastic, so I'm aiming to attend a mid-tier uni with a solid MSc program in Europe. I've found a lot of information about MBA programs but not much for MSc programs. I'm assuming it's a bit easier to get into an MSc than MBA, but I'm not really sure.

Here are the unis I will apply to and their min. GMAT requirements from their websites:

* Erasmus University Rotterdam's MSc in Marketing Management. (600 GMAT min.)
* University of Mannheim's MSc in Management/Marketing (550 GMAT min.)
* Maastricht University's MSc in Marketing (500 GMAT min.)

Of course if I score lower than 600, I know I'll be rejected from Rotterdam. But, how good of a chance do you think I'll have if I only score a 610? What about if I score a 550 for Mannheim & Maastricht? I know Rotterdam and Mannheim are especially competitive for their MBA programs, but I haven't found much info on the acceptance rates of their MSc programs. I'm American with a 3.3 GPA from an American university and a year work experience.

Any thoughts at all on my overall chances would be helpful. Thank you for your insight! :)

Hi, I'm applying for Mannheim Master in Management and I scored 640. I also know a guy who scored 670. I know this isn't enough to have a proper understanding of the situation but still, is something. What was your result anyway? wish you luck
