MSF & Career Change [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2008, 12:12
As some of you may know, I have applied to a number of MSF programs and plan to commence full-time studies next Fall (2008). I will be pursuing an MSF degree because I am planning a career change from tax consulting to finance (M&A tax due diligence to CorpFin).

Now, here is my concern: recruiting starts in September and I will go into it w/out any prior IB experience. Almost all full-time analyst positions are available through a summer internship.

My question is: Is it possible that in September I apply for a summer analyst internship (as opposed to a full-time analyst position), even though I will be graduating this same year? Do banks/recruiters allow that?

Thanks

why don't you find an IB internship for summer 2008, before the MSF program starts?

Well, it's kinda late already, isn't it? Being a career changer, I don't think that I would have had a shot at an IB summer internship unless a brand name school had my back. That being said, I am still waiting on decisions from schools.
