MSF Claremont McKenna vs. Vanderbilt vs. Boston College-2012 [#permalink] New post 23 Mar 2012, 02:38
I got into the MA Finance at Claremont as well as the MSF programs at Vanderbilt and Boston College. I'm an international applicant, so placement stats are my biggest priority in making the decision which to attend. Claremont has impressive placement stats, the other two don't really give detailed information on current stats. Vandy is a brand name, Boston College had the location....Any advise?

All three are great schools. Boston College is a PT, at night MSF, whereas the other two are FT, during the day programs. Something you should consider.

Claremont is extremely selective of who they let in. Placements are really great. I would probably lean towards them, but the is just one mans opinion.

Placement wise, Claremont clearly does the best job. However, Vanderbilt doesn't seem to have any explicit stats by year...

Can you tell me which program at Boston college did you apply to - The full time MS (cohort) or the quantitative MSF. I sent my application to the college but am still awaiting a response... when did u apply and wen did they give a reply regarding your admit?

I applied to the cohort program, but I asked them to give me an answer earlier if possible, because I had to get back to the other two universities.

AnthonyD1982, are there any other reasons you would choose Claremont over Vandy and BC, except for placement stats? I still have not decided...

Is there any other reason more important? All three colleges are great and I suppose if you preferred Boston over California, then choose BC, but all things considered, Claremont is the better program.

For some reason BC does not have explicit placement stats by class, I saw some percentages on their website but those were really poor, same goes to Owen...I realize both are strong universities, but as you said - one of the primary interest of admits when choosing among universities, are placement opportunities. Can anyone provide some more info on this matter?
