Just thought I'd contribute here and get a thread going on some music to get pumped up to take the test. I found it really helped my energy levels going into the test which were high the whole time.

The night before I listened to classical which helped calmed my nerves a bit, but on G-Day I listened to these on the way to the testing center:

Eye of the Tiger - Journey
Beautiful Day - U2
Lose Yourself - Eminem
Ride of the Valkyries - Wagner
Warehouse - Dave Matthews Band
King of the Thing - O.A.R.
Right on Time - O.A.R.
Still D.R.E. - Dr.Dre

Feel free to add some of your own!

Submitted by others:
Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J
We Will Rock You - Queen

I suppose that you could include LL Cool J's "Moma said knock you out" and Queen's "We will rock you" to the collection.

Fun idea! :-D

I agree. I was definitely singing "Mama said knock you out" a few days before the test but didn't have it iTunes!

The first time I took the GMAT I listened to nothing but classical music on the hour drive to the testing location. I did this because I heard that classical music improved cognition. I scored a 710.

The second time I took the GMAT I listened to Eminem's newest album, "Recovery" on the hour drive to the testing location because I'm from Detroit and Em is the greatest rapper alive. I scored a 760.

Not sure if there is a causal link between the two -- you be the judge.

Enjoy PranavChamp!

Metallica's S&M album may be intuitively good for DS for a few reasons.

A) Metallica alone is sufficiently enjoyable as they set the standard for heavy metal throughout the decades and have some amazingly memorable guitar riffs and lyrics.

B) The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra alone is sufficiently enjoyable as they are an extremely tight and well regarded outfit.

C) Both musical monsters together in concert are abnormally sufficient and create a synergy that is greater than the sum of their individual efforts (neither alone are as sufficient in this regard!)

D) Obviously, each are sufficient alone.

E) Statements 1 and 2 together are not sufficient for people who do not appreciate the finer points of obscure musical amalgamations whilst studying for standardised exams.

No leaf clover is especially good! Q51 good!
