My Admit at Oxford [#permalink] New post 23 Dec 2005, 15:30
Hi all,
I have got an admission offer at Said B school at Oxford University. I wanted to do a one year program- so I had a choice amongst Insead, Oxford and LBS'accelerated MBA. However, I decided Oxford as my first choice becuase I live here, my partner has a job in Oxford and also we have a place for child care at Oxford University's nursery for my two year old. Also getting a degree from Oxford will add to my earlier degree at Cambridge and will make me true Oxbridge!! Insead was another choice but I gathered that the school ask you to learn another language which I think is a good idea but when a person with negligible business background will be struggling with core subjects of MBA, I think embarking on a new language didn't seem very prudent to me. Accelerated MBA at LBS was another option but I didn't want to get waiver from subjects. So Oxford ended as the best choice. I only applied to this school( in the first round) had interview on 25th Nov and they offered me a place on 2nd Dec. I am hoping to get some scholarship though I haven't heard anything about it as yet.
My interview was with a faculty and it was the easiest interview I have ever faced. The professor was very laudatory about me- I was apprehensive that he would think if I am doing so well in my current profession I should stay there but fortunately that didn't happen!!
A big thank you to all my forum mates and best wishes to all in their endeavour.
Best regards,
