my chances of getting into MACC programs? [#permalink] New post 18 Apr 2012, 00:10
Hi,

I plan on applying to the Master of Accounting Programs at UNC, USC, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Boston College.

--------------------------
GMAT 660 (42Q, 38V, AWA 5)
GPA (3.3 cumulative- positive trend overall, 3.75 Major)

--------------------------

Do you think I might have a decent chance to get into those programs?
Those are the school that I will be applying, but I really want to get into USC.
Let me know what you guys think!

I honestly think you have a decent chance at any MAcc program. You have a solid GMAT score and your GPA is just around the average or a bit below but from a good school so you have no problems there. I know USC's GMAT average last year was 650 and their GPA if I remember correctly was around 3.5. Just write good essays explaining why accounting, why that specific program, and your future plans. With good recommendations as well, I think you can get acceptances to all 5 schools mentioned.

Good luck! :)

badini0891,

Thanks. Just two more questions.
1). Did you major in accounting in your undergraduate school? I would like to know how challenging MAcc programs are for non-accounting majors.
2). How would you evaluate the career placement of USC's MAcc program?

I've actually been accepted to USC to start this summer. So, I'm not sure about the answers to those questions. I am a non-accounting major though and I'll be starting summer intensive in June. Sorry I wasn't able to help but if you have any further questions, let me know. I'll try my best to answer them. :)
