Sunday Update 15/7/2012 - Gave Knewton Test 2: 710 (Q50, V36). Finished Quant with 15 mins to spare, still made 2 silly mistakes. Did not read the question correctly. Verbal, 6 mistakes in the first 29, 6 in next 10, missed 2 questions. I am having timing issues in verbal had 12 mins for the last 11 questions. There was no IR section, so the score may be a bit inflated.

Takeaways
- SC proves to be my weakest link. I am taking 1 mins 50 seconds to answer a SC question. I don't know how to overcome that. Would sheer practice help or a course like e-GMAT do the trick.
- CR - Need to revise Powerscore CR and then practice CR from OG/LSAT Super Prep. I am a bit rusty here.
- IR - Solve from OG13, GMAT Prep Q Bank and MGMAT tests.

To do list
- Analyse MGMAT 1, Knewton 1, 2 verbal section.

Sunday Update 22/7/2012 - MGMAT Test 2: 660 (Q50, V32)

I am having 10 mins instead of 18 for answering last 10 problems. Not sure how to overcome this, is reading speed the issue or is practice the missing link. Looks like a combination would work well here. Any tips

Plans
- Finish OG10/12/13/V2/Q Bank
- Practice Grockit
- Practice e-GMAT
- Sleep on time, by 1 AM :)

Monday Update:
GMAT Prep 1 Repeat (Quant 50 , Verbal 34) 700

Quant: 3 mistakes, missed 1 question.
Verbal: Could finish only 32 questions, 8 mistakes in them; 5 mistakes in next 7 questions, couldnot attempt last 2 questions.
SC 6/13
CR 1/6
RC 2/13
SC is really pulling me down big time, having both accuracy and timing issues. Time for e-GMAT, Grockit, Thursdays with Ron,other SC notes.
RC is also eating time , was having 13 mins for last 13 questions, then a lengthy RC came and was down to 3 for last 9. LSAT RCs could help here.

Sunday Update: 23/8/2012 - MGMAT 3 - 660 ( Quant 49, Verbal 32).
As you can see I am stuck in high 600 range inspite of my best efforts. Clearly I am making some mistake.
I have gone overboard in re-reading MGMAT SC, OG 12. The experts advice is not quite working in my case.
So to identify what was going wrong gave a GMAT Club Verbal untimed test. CR and RC were good. SC Qs were debatable. Still good practice.

Here is my summary as to why I am stuck
I was getting bored around Q20-25 in Verbal, not fatigued like, but bored. There was a certain unwillingness of my mind to gave the fullest.
Just wanted to get over with the test. By confining myself to OG I was not familiarising myself enough with these questions types. I was treating these problems like physics problems where a same concept can applied in several places. GMAT tutors can afford to sit on problems for hours, unfortunately we students donot have that luxury. We can only progress by brute force practice of 400-500 problems of each type SC,CR and RC. Giving a number a full length test should also help. The whole point is to develop the art of pattern recognition and to be fearless of the problems.

I gave GMAT last week. Got 710 (Q50 V35). Happy because it's not 690-670, a dreaded score. It's good to have the score on record. Not satisfied because missed my target by 30-40 points. Please let know if I can help anyone.

It is a great score because it is exactly same as mine :P

710 is a good score but might be not so good for Indians. But with 710 and good application no school is invincible.
