I jus took the GMAT this morning. Score: 620 Q40 V35.
I know these scores are not mind blowing but I have to admit, I am content. This is my second time taking the GMAT. First time was Sep 2007 -> 530
. I knew the score was not reflective of my GMAT abilities. However, I was burnt out at the time and needed to take time off of GMAT prep. I started studying again mid-feb of this yr. I finished OG11, Manahattan prep for Verbal and Quant, took
Manhattan GMAT CAT (600), 5 800score.com CATs (good for practicing on the pc), and last but not least the 2 GMAT prep test" Prep1 (570), prep2 (650).
The first time around when I took the test, I wasn't prepared mentally I guess to tackle GMAT. I think the approach is key to score well on the GMAT. I was not too confident in my abilities. However, I read a lot of forums over here and it really made me feel like I can do better this time. I was more strategic in my approach. Eeverytime I practiced either verbal or quantitative questions, my goal was to finish it in less than 2 mins. I made a conscious effort of doing that during my practice sesions.
My exam this morning was at 8 am! Everything else was booked. I was a little anxious last night; did not get too much sleep. Woke up at 530am and got to the test center around 7am. Relaxed and reviewed some last min stuff before I checked in at 730am. To make a long story short, I finished the Q section just in time and had 10mins to spare for the V section. Finally, when i saw 620 on my screen, I was not excited but content. My initial goal was to reach 650; I fell 30 pts short but I'll take it.
I am planning to apply to PT schools in NYC.
