Today I gave my GMAT and got 710 (50 Q ; 36 V).
I was neither unhappy nor happy and I'll not be appearing for GMAT once again, that for sure :-)
My scores of Practice exams :
Princeton Online 2 : 730
Princeton Online 3 : 720
Manhattan Free GMAT : 710
Kaplan 2 : 700
Kaplan 3 : 720
Kaplan 4 : 740
Kaplan 5 : 730
GMAT PREP 1 : 730
GMAT PREP 2: 750

My last exams were Kaplan 4 and 5 (Kaplan Premier Online Live GMAT) and GMAT PREP 2 and I thought my score will be over 730.
But I was under some pressure to finish verbal and assumed that dent my score.
Anyway all the best to the others!

All the best for the MBA admissions. Thanks for sharing your practice tests marks as well so that we can have a good comparison about the marks in practice tests against real GMAT examination.

Congratulations Angel2009! 710 is a good score anyway you look at it.

A couple of questions for you

- Do you feel the OG/Quant Review/GMAT prep quant questions were representative of the real GMAT questions? (Anything out of the ordinary)
- There is a general impression that RC passages on the real GMAT are lengthier. Is that true?
- How would you compare the CR questions that are in the OG/Verbal Review with those in the real GMAT? (Similar, lengthier, more convoluted)
- As you look back on your preparation do you feel there is something you could have done better/spent more time on?

Not really, I got some tough quant , really tough
Quote:
- There is a general impression that RC passages on the real GMAT are lengthier. Is that true?

Unfortunately I got 4 RC passage and two of them are really lengthier.
And most unfortunately I got one of those in my last part from Q : 35 to 39 and that doesn't help my score (assuming that passage is not a sample question not to be marked.
Quote:
- How would you compare the CR questions that are in the OG/Verbal Review with those in the real GMAT? (Similar, lengthier, more convoluted)

CR was as good as those are in OG -12

Quote:
- As you look back on your preparation do you feel there is something you could have done better/spent more time on?

In many parts, more practice more practice more practice.
Can go through Power score RC Bible, etc.
But still I'm not retaking it and I know my score is not that great. But I can't have the time for prepare once more!

Yeah... you didn't really write anything other than your scores.

Anyway, 710 is a good score. Looking at your practice tests, the scores seems to be in line with your actual score. I'm also not so sure a 710 is a score worth retaking but it is your decision. Good luck with that.

Its not obligatory for anyone to share. Its the generosity of the user. If the user has not explained to our expectations, we could request him to do so. So pointing out by " you call this a debrief " is definitely a sarcastic comment. But lets not have an argue or intricate the matter further.

Angel: Could you please elaborate your entire journey of preparation and GMAT day experience?

Hey gurpreetsingh...

shouldn't it be 'for all those fear the verbal section' rather than 'for all those who fear from verbal'...

fear <something> I fear the verbal section (actually the quant section would be more appropriate  )
fear of <something> I have a fear of heights.

just a thought...

Hey, Great score, i think 710 is pretty good, angel it would be great if you could let us know

What strategy you applied for SC, Did u use Mgmat SC?
Was it sufficient? How did u manage to remember all the rules-flashcards or ?
Or were you really good from the beginning in Verbal?

Did u use Powerscore CR for CR prep, Did u go though all the 10 chapters or the main 5 chapters?

Did u not feel fatigued during the test, if so, how did u deal with it?

Thanks and Regards.

I can't articulate things properly and I don't mind if anyone tries to make any offensive statement against me...
Leave it, rather I'm trying to answer some other queries posted by BlueRobin:

Quote:
What strategy you applied for SC, Did u use Mgmat SC?

For the starter, I used that i.e. Manhattan and I did with scanned copy found from internet.
Other than that I followed Kaplan 800 for practice as that has some hard questions as per my understanding.
I practiced Kaplan Premier for the same and 1000 SC for more practice material.

Quote:

I don't think still I can't remember every idiom just for an example at the G-Day morning I came to know after little of there should not be plural form i.e. little of differences is wrong!

Quote:
Or were you really good from the beginning in Verbal?

No my power is math.

Quote:

Powerscore is very good book and again I saved money as just downloading from internet.

Quote:

Yes , I did. Please practice full length test, not like me who used to skip analytical writing portion.

The books I followed:
Kaplan Premier and Kaplan 800, Powerscore CR Bible, OG -12 ,11 ,Verbal Review and Manhattan SC.
I find 1000 CR is ok but now a days in GMAT that kinds of questions are not that frequent.
1000 SC though have some wrong OA is good practice material and 3000 RC is again not a bad source!

A 710 is a very good score, angel2009! And it's good to walk away from the test with a solid performance. Congrats!

But man, you sure did take a lot of practice tests. I personally don't put too much stock into those other than GMAT PREP.
