Thanks, akshathbs. I know it can be a difficult decision. My suggestion to you, should you decide to retake, is to first send your original score to the schools you're applying to and then retake the exam. This way, should things not work as expected, the schools won't know your second score.

I don't know if you've seen Avernusaur's experience with the retake.

Good luck!

Amazing result!
Thanks for the tips.
The " 'relaxed' strategy in which I noted down very little in the verbal section and let my brain process more " seems to be the better option for me too... taking notes on RC only destabilizes my train of thought...

OP, you mentioned that you scored a 760 on the four practice exams you took prior to the real exam. Which practic exams were these? GMAT Prep? MGMAT? Kaplan?

If I remember correctly, two were MGMAT and the other two were GMAT Prep.

Key takeaway:
Read about what has worked for others, but only pick out what works for you. Practice what works for you. Try to finish early in even the practice exams. All of this might seem very obvious (hey, it was for me too!), but I'm a living example of what might go wrong if you try to do too much.

This is one of the best advice I have seen so far - very true. I liked how you said, in your 1st attempt, you focused too much on other stuff that only matter when you know the real test. I will make sure I don't get bogged down by other craziness and focus on the basics. Thanks.
