My Pathetic performance [#permalink] New post 12 Jul 2006, 06:37
Gave the exam this Monday and scored 620, what a terrible performance. I know I am not god of quant and obviously not of verbal but this I haven't expected this low. I was not expecting way beyond in 700 either, I would be very happy with somewhere near 680.

I feel that was enough for me. I had about 8 years of good IT experience in some very good organizations (Microsoft, Credit Suisse Investment Bank), and by the time I would have started the course it would be close to 9 years.

The section which led me down is RC, even in practice tests I always got maximum incorrect in RC. In GMATPrep, Manhattan & Princeton I always scored between 650 to 700. And I wasn’t uncomfortable in the exam, I finished both the section in proper time, means atleast 30sec before the time got over.

I am definitely going to give it again but need suggestions on how to improve in RC, as well as suggestion for AWA because my typing speed is quite slow and not able to type all the stuff I was thinking. And obviously English is not my language, so it take sometime for me to gather my thought and write the same in English.

And by the way I have prepared from MGMAT material. I have finished all of the 7 books end to end with all the practice questions atleast twice. Also did almost all the questions from OG11.

Hi humans,

I'm sorry but I believe to be simply enable to give u the advices that u are looking for.

By the same time, I understand perfectly the point on AWA. I feel that my english as well is not good enough. I heard and read about some template: I think that I will definetly learn one of them by practice on concret topics.

I'm pretty supprised that u get no reply on your topic. I hope that u have found some responses by other ways.

I'm wondering on the way that u studied for your first attempt : errorlog, plan, daily hours etc... Would u give us more infos?

Keep your moral up, don't give up !!! :)

Thanks Fig for the response. I found some ways to tackle the RC part shall going to start again from this weekend.

And for studying I can say I followed the best practices. Studied daily about 2 hrs and about 6-8 on weekends, maintained the error log and that is how I know my RC is weakest. Sometimes in practice tests virtually I got all the SC & CR questions correct and all the RC questions wrong which ultimately brings score down.

Anyway going to attempt again sometime is September.
