My Prep so far - Rambling [#permalink] New post 23 Aug 2003, 07:14
Hello,

I found this site a couple weeks ago. Love the puzzle questions. Been prepping about 3 hours a day for the last 5 weeks. So far Kaplan Higher Score, Kaplan 800 Score (should have saved this for later), PR, parts of GMAT+, Arco book, some GMAC old Paper Tests. Scores have been fairly consistent.

Kaplan Diag - 700
Kaplan Paper Test 1 - 690
Kaplan CAT 1 - 640 (time constraints)
GMAC Paper Test 14 - 740
GMAC Paper Test 25 - 750
GMAC Paper Test 31 - 770

Noticed something very strange. The CR sections of the GMAC Paper Tests have questions which are identical to the Kaplan 800 score CR questions. Not just one or two. The whole section (16 questions) is identical.

Weaknesses:
SC - Borrowed Grammar books from library and will be studying them.
Need to make a conscious effort to blank the other statement when evaluating a statement in DS.
Read each question twice in word problems to avoid calculating the wrong thing.
Never done any of the AWA essays.

I will do one PowerPrep test this weekend and maybe two more Kaplan CAT tests. I am saving the OG, the other PowerPrep Test and the last two GMAC Paper Tests for the week before the real thing.

Next five weeks will be general prep and a serious focus on essay writing. I plan to take the real test in late september.

This site is a great resource. There is a lot of very useful information here and I am very thankful to all those who have contributed.
