Choose C.

It can't be A or B. The "ancient" anasazi cannot "now call".

E is awkward due to use of "it". Between C & D pick C for conciseness.

Anyone please explain what kind of construction is this?
Is it an absolute construction or modifier???

How to differentiate between a modifier coming in the last and an absolute construction which contains Noun and/or some modifer???

Is there any specific rule?
