download another copy of the program. run it. and when it asks you to save it in the directory just chose the exact same one you already have installed it to. Basically you want to over-write your old copy. And it will ask if you want to do this. You click yes. Next. Next. Next. Vio-la. Done. That worked for me. at least. The better way of doing it would probably simply going to your control panel. Double click on your add/remove software icon. After it loads, look around for your GMATprep software. Uninstall it. It will ask you if you want to remove it entirely. Ofcourse you will click "yes" and then it may or may not prompt you to restart your PC. After that, you can go ahead and reinstall a brand new fresh copy on.

I tried reinstalling as per your instruction, the outcome is no different. Another thing, the practice test files are .dat files and not log files, did i miss out something?

I would try reinstalling it in safe-mode then running it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista

For Windows 7, you should go to your C Drive and try completely deleting the GMAT Prep folder and then reinstall. It's worked for some other people.

I uninstalled the GMAT, deleted the GMAT folder from C drive and reinstalled it from the official site. I find no change to the status; it still displays "Complete". In the exams folder of GMAT on C drive, i donot see "Practice1.log" file rather see the "Practice1.dat" file. Does this make a difference?

Thanks to each of you for offering to help. I have successfully reinstalled it. I missed out the instruction on ".log" files stored at a different location(C:\Users\{user_name}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\GMATPrep\exams) on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Each of you went out of your way for such a trivial thing; feel sorry to have bothered & very much appreciate you help.
