Dear GC members,
I am going through a hard time. My exam appointment is on 2nd April and I am flipping out. I gave an MGMAT practice test (untimed) recently and got 650. My scores previously have been :
680 GMATprep(in December, after a month of preparation of Quant) Don't remember the actual breakdown but Quant was around 49 and verbal somewhere around 30.
680 MGMAT(untimed) Q48 V34 January
700 Kaplan Q 50 V 33 Practice test January

I gave no tests in February and was on vacation for around 10 days. I have resumed my studies now(with work that I just joined),and these days I come back home and give MGMAT tests(untimed) in parts(completing Q in one day, v on another). I scored 650 on the last one Q49 V30(attached verbal analysis score sheet)
The problem is:
My Verbal fails to improve. I wasn't so worried about SC because it seems easy to me and my efficiency in SC has generally been good in the past tests. But yesterday's test has shaken me. My efficiency in RC continues to be pathetic. I get some 33% efficiency in most tests.

Books I have referred are OG 10 and 11;MGMAT SC;MGMAT RC; Powerscore CR.
I know I have gone through some very good material but I can't figure why I am still not improving.
For many questions the Official Answers were not even there in my contenders list. I am beginning to get worried.
Please advise me on my study plan for the next couple of weeks.

Thanks everyone. I am saving the GmatPrep for a later day maybe a week from now. I am unsure of what is going wrong with RC since I was always good at it ,even in school. Some of the mistakes have been because of a lack of concentration from my side and I am working on it. I will definitely go through the strategies presented by GMAT pill and I will come to you guys if needed after my first attempt.

Thanks all. Please do give me some good resources for RC questions. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks again.

RC - There is very little theory here though it is still a good idea to know the question types and the various strategies you could use. Whatever RC material you have, I would suggest you to read up on the various types of questions e.g. Main idea, Inference etc and how to approach these question types. Do not get specific detail questions wrong since you can just cross check if you have any doubt. It is important to take a note of scope, tone, organization and purpose of the passage after your first full read. You can even go in for a quick second read if need be. This time you will be much faster and things will make much more sense. Thereafter, you can jump to the questions. The important thing here is to find which strategy works for you and then practice lots of questions using it. Also, don't do 10 passages in 1 day and then none the next. Work on 2-3 passages everyday to fine tune your strategy and get the best results.

Also, there is no point keeping the GMAT prep test till the last day. If you wait another day, you will get your official result itself. Put the test to good use by finding out your weaknesses. Take it properly in timed conditions as seriously as you can and then analyze where things went wrong and what you need to focus on. Then use the next 2-3 weeks to work on the areas you identify.

You need a new attack strategy - RC that low means you're scoring just as well as if you were randomly guessing. That means RC is completely destroying your score right now.

If you don't have an RC attack strategy, you need to develop one - either on your own or seek help.

You can find some demo examples of RC attack strategy from GMATPill here:
http://www.gmatpill.com/practice-questi ... -guide-rc/

Of course, do your research to find out what's best for you but the learning style may be helpful to you.
