I have 6 weeks to study for the GMAT, I need at least a 600 on it. I took it once and made a 400 on it, I didn't study at all. My weakest area is data sufficiency. I did slightly better on the verbal than quant. I was wondering is six weeks enough time to boost my score 200 points? If so about how many hours a day should I study?

Hi Msw88,
To be frank, 6 weeks is too short a time to increase your score by 400. The score shows that you have a lack of understanding of fundamentals.
Still if you are hard pressed on time, there is only one way forward then.
1. When did you take your first GMAT?
2. What were your sectional scores?
3. Did you opt for any preparatory course/book?
4. Did you solve the official guides?
Coming to this round of preparation, below are some suggestions:
1. If possible, try to increase the time frame
2. Sit for a mock CAT - you get 2 free ones from mba.com and see where you stand currently
3. Post this opt for a preparatory course/book and try to understand the fundamentals.
4. Since you are short on time, I would recommend you to focus on the official problems only. You can buy
the Official guide and the Verbal review.
