-->Other Stuff : Worked as Coordinator for finance clubs in college.
Did a disaster management course and launched a campaigns along with the local govt. to create awareness.(my college is located in an earth quake prone zone),along side other social initiatives like teaching poor kids etc.

It all depends on the school to which you want to apply. If your score falls in the average range of the school, you can skip the retaking.
Regarding the deadlines, most of the schools have their R2 deadlines Early in Jan. So taking GMAT in December might not be a good idea unless you start working on the apps simultaneously.
You need around 1.5 to 2 months to build a strong application to a school.
