I have been accepted to Duke, so i am now sure i am going to start at an MBA program come fall.

My background is in IT, but I want to switch into investment management and a career in finance. Do you have any recommendations on books to read so that I will be prepared when I begin the MBA.

Thanks,
idream

You'll learn everything that you need to know once you're in school, so don't sweat it too much. Everyone says Liar's Poker is a good pre-MBA read. I recommend t, but more because it's an interesting book than because it teaches you anything that you need to know for b-school. As silly as it sounds, one of those books like 10 Day MBA can actually give you a nice overview of what you'll learn. Also, The Goal is a very popular book in b-school operations classes. It's written like a novel, so it's not hard to read for the beginner.

I also recommend just reading things like the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek to get up to speed on business issues.
