need advice on recommendation letter. [#permalink] New post 18 Dec 2012, 03:21
Hello.

I am a full-time HKUST MBA applicant for 2013 intake.
I have a question regarding the reference form.

The file I uploaded is the reference form HKUST put on its website.

My question is if I need to ask my recommenders to fill out those "open comments".

Is it better to fill out all of the "open comments" ? (There are eight criteria like the ones shown in the file I uploaded)

Or is it better to fill out some of the "open comments" that show my strength.

Or is it ok to leave them out and just fill out the question after them.
(There is only one question that is asking about an applicant with 100 word limit.)

I am really confused...pleasee help me!!!!!

Thank you for your answer in advance.

You are better off if your recommenders fill out provide examples where space is left for "open comments." Those specifics will make a world of difference in the value of that recommendation. They will also say that your recommenders cared enough to take the time and provide those comments, as opposed to just giving quickie numeric ratings.

Best,
Linda
