need best strategy to crack GMAT in 4 months [#permalink]

Hi everyone.

. I have been reading some discussions on this forum since a few days & really appreciate the valuable knowledge shared here. I gave GMAT yesterday for the first time & scored just 580(Q 41 v 27)

. I just used some old high school mathematics text books for quant & "grammer by wren & martin" for verbal. Due to work related travel & other family matters i hardly studied properly for a month before taking the exam.

I now bought the Official Guide & intend to retake GMAT in december along with these forums help.Could anyone share some good tips on how i can maximise my score to 680+ ? Iam a software programmer with 3+yr experience & good in analytical skills.

Hi cheering, Welcome to gmat club!

Well, again your story seems alot like me. One thing you have to keep in mind & that is You Can Cross 680

First of all, you should decide that do you need a test prep course or you will do it via self study. This thread will help you out in dtermining the suitable course for you.

Hi cheeringbuddha,
in my opinion the best preparation for self study, is reading through all Manhattangmat books. They are really useful, especially because they show you in a really detailed manner how to ace the gmat. Furthermore they are easy to read. As little bonus you get access to 6 gmat cat tests on their website.
In my opinion the manhattan books could boost your score by ~ 100 points!
