I have a major doubt regarding the usage of that and which. Can some GMAT guru please help me here.
1) Discrimination in wages paid in occupations that are predominantly male .....
2) The patchwork of green fields that surround the San Joaquin Valley town bustles with .....
Is the text in bold correct? I am really troubled to decide on plural/singular verb when prepositional phrases come in.
In grammatical jargons:
Whenever relative pronouns such as 'that' and 'which' modify the prepositional phrases such as 'X of Y', or 'X in Y in Z', etc., relative pronoun refers to which noun as antecedent: X, Y, etc
X of Y that ... Here that refers to X or Y?
Also please assume that relative pronouns denotes essential information. Need Experts advice on that and which.
