Need help for choosing schools - GMAT : 660 ( Q50, V29) [#permalink] New post 30 Nov 2011, 04:24
Hi,
I took the GMAT today and ended up with a score of 660 ( Q50, V29). My target was 700+, but Verbal betrayed me!
Well, I don't think there is anytime for me to re-take the GMAT , as I want to apply for round 2 for Fall 2012 (Because if I take the GMAT again, then I will fall in the pool of students for round 3, which I guess might be risky).

My Profile : I am from India, and I have a total of 9.5 years of experience in Software industry working as Software Engineer/Lead.
GPA : 3.2

I would like apply for schools like Booth, Tuck, Kellogg,Columbia. I know that I am sounding much optimistic, but would like to have your advice whether it would be a correct decision to go ahead and apply in these schools.

Please advice. Also if possible, could you please send me a list of good Universities where I can apply with this score?I am open to Canada, Singapore, and if needed, European countries as well

Thanks !

Hi Practicegmat,

If you are considering Booth, Columbia, and Kellogg, I strongly recommend you take the GMAT test again. You may need to wait an additional year to apply, as we do not recommend applying to the last round. If you apply to, for example, Chicago Booth with a score of 660, your score will be in the bottom 10th percentile. This does not necessarily mean you will not be accepted, however it is not a preferable position to be in. Your GMAT score is self-reported on your business school application, so admissions teams will focus on your highest score.

Best,

Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team
