Get Grammar Smart to learn English grammar and read American publications. If your English is poor start with newspapers - they're written at a lower level. The Washington Post is good. You can also read articles online (http://www.washingtonpost.com), and I would also recommend reading news stories on http://www.cnn.com. Time magazine might also be good. Then I would suggest reading Business Week, The Economist, and perhaps the Wall Street Journal or The Financial Times (if you're interested in finance - otherwise they're pretty dull).
