DS problems are two fold:
One: Breaking down the problem to figure out "what is the problem really askign.
Two: Being competent enough with math concepts to solve what said problem is asking.
We have a strategy in the strategy thread (see the link in my sig), but this only helps to you about ~650 level problems. After that, the problems become more difficult where one option is not really "easier" than the other.
RC is a bit tricky as it tests your ability to extrapolate information based on a passage (to a small degree), and also tests your ability to maintain focus when reading a passage. We have a thread here that lists out some fiction books that have helped some with RC.
