Need help on buying some verbal practise material. [#permalink] New post 20 Jun 2004, 02:56
Hi All,
I have already practised verbal sections from Kaplan and Princeton CD. Now i would like to buy some more material which has lot of verbal practise.
I have thought of the following -
1. Manhattan GMAT 8 tests CD
2. Realtest Questions ( full of only SC, CR and RC practise, I dont know how good they are, the site claims that they have real GMAT questions).
3 . 5 full length tests from 800Score.com
I am not sure how good any of the above is. Can anyone give me some suggestions on these. Please.

Thanks.

Manhattan GMAT is adaptive, unlike kaplan and princeton.. thats probably the only difference. about quality of MGMAT, i understand that its simply the ARCO tests. I am not sure about 800 score quality for verbal.. and i would definitely not recommend real test questions.

Stick to OG for verbal. probably get some disclosed LSAT's .. OG and LSAT are probably the BEST practice material. if you do not understand a problem , you can always post it here.

Praetorian, one correction - Princeton Review practice tests ARE adaptive. I know someone who works there and can guarantee you they're adaptive!

Ok. Thanks. i believe i got this info. from akamaibrah... but its possible that PR changed its software recently.

Have you taken the GMAT yet? I noticed that you recommend Princeton Review a lot to our members. Are you working for Princeton Review or did you take classes there? If possible, can you write us a review of their courses... and we will be glad to publish it.

The PR CD tests and the online tests were not that useful to me and so i wont really prefer PR over Kaplan, but i welcome your opinions about it.

thanks

Hi, Praet. I don't know how long PR's tests have been adaptive, but I used their books when I took my GMAT and they were adaptive with the 2003 edition for sure. A friend of mine has taken their GMAT course and two others have taken their LSAT course, and they all had positive things to say so I was pre-disposed to take their course. I was signed up to take their GMAT course but had to cancel for personal reasons, and then didn't have another opportunity to take it. I had researched it pretty heavily and talked to an instructor, and was very impressed with them. In the end I just used their books and practice tests and thought they were really useful.

Hope that helps!
