50% (01:44) correct 50% (00:40) wrong based on 8 sessions
A cashier mentally reversed the digits of one customer's correct amount of change and this gave the customer an incorrect amount of change. Id the cash register contained 45 cents more than it should have as a result of this error, which of the following could have been the correct amount of change in cents.

A 14
B 45
C 54
D 65
E 83

Suppose the correct amount of Change is xy In place of that he has given yx change.

The decimal value of xy is 10x+y
and for yx it is 10y +x

According to the question ,the difference is 45 cents .

10x + y - (10y+x) =45
9(x-y)=45 or x-y=5

So the difference of two digit should be 5 and the only option with this criteria is 83.Hence answer is E.
