I am aggressively preparing for my second attempt at the GMAT. My first attempt was 45,36 in Q and V respectively for a 660.
My target school needs an average of 700 and i am an Indian male which make it imperative that i hit the 700+ mark.
I noticed that i was weak in verbal and got the powerscore CR guide which has helped to a certain extent. I also used
MGMAT, Kaplan 800 (still in progress) and Og12.
MGMAT SC,RC
MGMAT FDP, NP, VICs, GEOMETRY, Word Translations
Powerscore bible.
In my second round:
The first
MGMAT test i took i scored 750 Q48 and V44. i was extremely happy and continued more aggressively
The second test i took : i score 670! Q46 and V35
The third test i tried to slow down things as much and scored a 680. I noticed that around the 20 question i was at 85 percentile in quant and 92 in verbal around the half way mark. I ended with 78 and 81 percentile.
i did not write the AWA on which i scored a 6 in the first 3 exams. I plan to incorporate that from the next exam onwards. I took the first test in the evening and second and third test in the morning around 6am. I have always been a morning person!
My biggest problem seems to be time: I find my self left with 10 question and 10 minutes in the end!
I find it very hard to just guess in the end. I feel i can make an educated guess and hence read the question to stike out 2-3 options.
Also, One other problem i noticed is i took very long on certain quant questions- even upto 6 minutes!
I need some suggestions from you folks to correct what im doing wrong. Im at wits end and i want to take this test by march 14th. I plan to start taking the
gmat club tests everyday from today and also doing 20-30 verbal problems everyday.
If i have not posted enough information for you to guide me,please do ask me anything that will help you guide me.
I have read the retake strategies and also the timing strategies. I will revisit the latter. if i continue like this i will have to postpone my exam and just go sign up for the Knewton money back guarantee!
