Did you take both CAT under real conditions, like taking breaks and doing the IR and Essays?

Try this link and look at the suggestions to improve Quant from 44 to 50:

Hi akara2500,

I'd like to know more about how you've been studying and your timeline/goals:

1) How long have you been studying?
2) What resources have you been using?
3) Have you taken just those 2 CATs or have there been others?

4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Hi akara2500,

Since you're not planning to apply to Business School this 'cycle', you have plenty of time to work on your GMAT training, which is good.

Many Test Takers who use a 'book-heavy' study approach end up getting 'stuck' at a particular score level, and that's likely what has happened to you too. You've taken a VERY book-heavy study approach, so it's possible that you're trying to mix-and-match too many different techniques for the Quant section.

To start though, the Quant section of the GMAT is NOT a 'math Test', so while you're probably fairly comfortable with the straight-forward 'math' questions that you face, you're likely missing out on lots of the 'strategy' points (and you're going to need to get those points to score Q48+). This is all meant to say that continuing to do things 'your way' is not going to get you to that next level. You're going to have to commit to practicing more of a strategic approach (whether you learn those strategies from one of the books that you have or from another resource altogether is up to you.

As an aside, you're going to have to perform at a relatively high level in the Verbal section as well - the V35 and V20 on your last 2 CATs point to some inconsistencies there.
