Hi experts,

Work Ex-->4 yrs 9 months. Leading Indian IT company, working for a large US based banking client for the last 3 yrs.

International Experience-->11 months(running) in Mexico. Little knowledge of Spanish.

Educational qualification-->10th(81%), 12th(71.8%), B.Tech(Electronics & Communication Engg- 71.33%)

GMAT score-->1st attempt(29 Oct'12)--640(Q-49,V-27,AWA-4,IR-6), 2nd attempt(29 July'13)--650(Q-49, V-31). Planning to retake as I feel these scores along with my profile are not good enough to fetch me calls from my target schools.

I agree with you that your profile will not be competitive at top schools, as it's simply way too common. There are literally thousands of Indian male applicants working in IT with international experience who serve on NGOs and play badmintion. I don't see much in your core profile to differentiate yourself especially given that your GMAT is about 70-90 points off the average for your applicant pool. I would begin looking in the top 30 b-school range instead of the top ten. Sorry I wish I could give you a more hopeful response, but unless you have something more unusual in your profile, it frankly sounds like any other from your applicant pool and will just be more noise for them to sift through. Check out UNC Chapel Hill or Vanerbilt or SMU.
