I am still trying to figure out my long term career post MBA and would like some advice. I have a tech background so it is probably not smart to do a full career switch into pure finance. I am interested in project management and also business analyst but are those considered "long term" though? I definitely want to do a hybrid finance and IT so I just dont outright "waste" my tech degrees. Any suggestion on other careers are helpful, thanks!

You should pursue whatever career actually interests you, irrespective of your previous experience/education. The only role your previous experience/education should play is to confirm whether you like or dislike what you've previously done. You're obviously going to have an easier time finding jobs in tech if that's your background, but it's silly to spend the time and money required for an MBA to pursue anything other than what you're truly interested in. Not to say that you're guaranteed to get an offer at your dream job, but you should definitely try.

That said.... I think there are plenty of career options that would allow you to combine project management, finance, and your tech background for a rewarding career (if that's what truly interests you).
