Hi,
I have been following this forum for past few weeks.Previously I was practising only the
OG 11 questions, but since most of the people in this forum was referring to the
Manhattan Prep books I decided to have a look at those. It was really helpful in building the basics.I was able to answer the
OG 11 with ease. But for the tougher questions(1000 series and tough questions from
MGMAT tests) those books doesn't seem to be sufficient.
I have started giving the
MGMAT tests. Here are my test scores:
MGMAT 1 - 610 (V31) (August 8th)
MGMAT 2 - 630 (V29)(August 14th)
MGMAT 3 - 570 (V27)(August 19th)
MGMAT 4 - 570 (V22)(Yesterday)
I am really worried about my Verbal scores, which is steadily decreasing. I am also finding the
MGMAT questions tougher than those I practiced. I am scoring equally bad in SC and CR(50-60% correct) and RC is even worse.
Please help me to get my scores at least 35.I am taking the exam in 4 weeks.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Saggy - welcome to GMAT Club.
Your verbal scores are pretty stagnant. I would not worry too much about decreasing trend (few people do worse after their prep than before - may be just a glitch).
I would take a GMATprep or if you are saving it, then a PowerPrep (previous version of the test). You may see a few overlapping questions with OG11, but otherwise, should be a realistic test & score.
The questions in the
OG are generally easier than what you will see on the test, so
MGMAT is usually on par with GMAT, but it is not consistent for everyone. (hence the recommendation for a GMATprep)
Verbal does take a while to improve. Here are some thoughts as to what you can do:
gmat-study-plan-go-from-650-to-80235.htmlHowever, RC takes a longer time to master. Depending on the score you need, you may be able to squeeze by without having to deal with RC too much but if you are looking for 700, then you'll have to deal with it.
