need your help [#permalink] New post 03 Feb 2013, 22:44
Hello ALL

I started preparing for the GMAT in June 2012 using the Veritas books. I studied just for the Quant and I didn't spend anytime studying the Verbal because I though ''Ok .. English is not my first language so my verbal skills cannot be improve in just one or two months". In July I took the real GMAT test and I got (33Q / 13V)  I was really disappointed

Then I decided to study for one more month to see what will happen. I bought Kaplan book, then I study just the Quant without the Verbal. After one month I took the test again and I got (31Q/16V)  I said Ok this is it I will not take the test again.

However, In November, I decide to study for the verbal along with the Quant from Manhatten books. I spent one month and half preparing for the test. then I took the test and I got (38Q/23V). It was a real relief to me because I saw an improvement and I realized that with the right way of studying I can do much better.

Now, I am planning to take the test for the third time in at most two months. So I don't have much time but I believe that I can increase my score especially if I know the right way to improve my verbal skills. I said to myself, your quant skills will not improve that much in this little time you have but your verbal might improve a lot if you know how to deal with it.

please I need your advice and encouragements. :(

Thanks

For Fall 13 the deadlines will be quite tight now(unless u r planning for european schools). If u have only US schools on mind then max u should take the exam by Feb end, also u need to finish with the essays so it seems quite tough now.

Thanks,
Shreeraj

aiha85,

Don't give up but don't book the exam till you see the score that you want on your mocks.

Say you want a 650. Wait till you get a 650 on your mocks.

Verbal can be improved but it ,for sure, takes time. Join e-gmat's trial course. Lot of people recommened e-gmat for verbal.

For Quant, I would suggest that you focus on knowing all the concepts that are tested rather than focussing on tough questions.
Even if you solve easy and medium questions and you know about all the quant concepts tested, you will still end up with 44 in Q.

Let me know if this helps. Please reward kudos if this does help.
