Networks of blood vessels in bat's wings server only to disperse heat generated in flight. This heat is generated only because bats flip their wings. Thus paleontologists' recent discovery that winged dinosaur SS had similar netw of blood vessels in the skin of its wings provides evidence for the hypothesis that SS flew by flapping its wings, not just by gliding.
The argument in the passage relies on which of the following assumptions ?
1. SS would have had netw of blood vessels in the skin of its wings if these netw were of no use to SS
2. Heat generated by SS in flapping its wings in flight could not have been dispersed by anything other than the blood vessel in its wings.
There are other options as well for answers. But i got confused betw these 2 above.
Can anyone suggest which is the answer ?
1 for me.
2 is extreme and irrelevant
