I chose E because "so extraordinary a fee" sounds correct. I've heard this sometimes earlier as well. Probably saw the same question elsewhere:)

C & D are the other contenders.
C) I think "such extraordinary" is wrong such should be followed by a, an etc ex: "He's such a nice guy."
D) is totally wrong "today's have"????

My vote is for C. 'Such' doesn't have to have an 'a' after it if the word its describing is plural (fees).

Also interested in the source.

Yeah I too was a bit confused...
However D cannot be the answer because today's doesnt make sense.
C too looks fine to me

The source is set of questions from some random PDF file. I am not sure if this exists in some authentic SC book or not.

I disagree with the OA. I, too, went with (C). I don't particularly trust question sources that are not from some sort of a brand-name company.
