Dear All

Though this forum is not directly related to the MBA, i feel having choices and filling the information gap is a good thing to do.

So i started this new category "MBA substitutes". Hope to see you all contribute here.

Thanks

Hey guys i am among those lasy people who cant really start working unless i see others doing so.
You guys are all awesomely motivated and dedicated, it is quite intimidating actually but competitiveness is always a good thing right?

Have been souting arround for advise regarding MBA alternatives, and just wanted to find out what you guys particularly the big guns on this forum who seem to be extremely well averse with the mechanics of the system, what the real alternative are.
I know a MS in Finance is a hto topic for discussion, but do you guys honestly feel it is that different from a MBA with a concentration in finance? I know course schedules and detailed mappings of programs in Berkley and princeton and LSE focus on emphasizing how quant based their programs are, but does it give you so much that would be found lacking in an MBA?

And if someone like me cant afford an MBA and wants to wait to get one later on, is MS in Finance my main realistic option (taking the requirements of the real world into consideration).
I have had numerous professors from my past tell me to go fora PhD in Finance, but i dont know if i am cut out for that kind of commitment.
Do pour in whatever you know and think, no info is ever unimportant in my mind
Cheers

You might find it helpful to see the education backgrounds of some executives to see which types of degrees execs commonly hold:
