Hi Everbody,

This is my first post to this excellent forum. I am based in India and last week took GMAT and was highly disappointed with the score of 600, actually was managing a score of 710 - 730 range throughout mock tests but goofed up in the real exam, lost concentration in verbal section as I used to practice the mocks without AWA's and had difficulty to concentrate for long on test day.
Apart from that I had problem with SC part also.

Now I want views of u ppl in 2 areas -

First, can u please suggest me some material on SC online or book that I need to follow for my second attempt.
Second, I have scheduled the test in december now.....what are my chances of getting in as I'll be applying in R2 in most of univs, I am a software engineer by profession, have very good academic credentials, was university topper n gold medalist, professionally also I was awarded as star performer, good essays and recommendation won't be a problem.......If I manage a score of >700 this time, then what are my chances of selection ?

It will be of great help if u ppl can post ur views.

thanks in advance

Hi,
I am not an expert on admission councilling. I, too, am an applicant. But on the basis of my understnading of admission process, i can say your profile seems pretty impressive.

I think the real issue will be time management. Most universities have second rounds' deadlines in Jan, and if you think you will be able to complete application requirements- essays, recos, etc, then i don't think there will be any problem.

Otherwise, you can download essay questions and start thinking on them.

Final word, don't rely on admission councillors in delhi. I have already burnt my fingers. If you love your money and future, think twice before joining any.
