Hi, Appreciate your response ! I am from an engineering background but I guess my math skills have gone a bit rusty. I heard the Manhattan quant books are quite exhaustive, so I thought to stick with just the OG 13 and OG quant review. What do you suggest? Cheers, Viv

Hi bb,
I know you get this a lot but how will my undergrad score of 79.2% ( Engineering from a good Indian university) translate to GPA/CGPA for MBA admissions into American and European universities?
Best Regards, Viv

Best Regards, Viv I don't get it a lot but it is tough question. See this discussion: how-to-convert-indian-gpa-percentage-to-us-4-pt-gpa-scale-124249.html

Yes.... there have been plenty of Indian applicants and most likely, you will be evaluated against other applicants in India.

Well I took a diagnostic test ( one from my private course that I am going to attend) and scored a whopping 500 !! Well I guess for someone who has not practiced at all ,I am not too worried. I got 80% of the questions correct ( infact finished verbal 15 min ahead of time and I couldnt finish the quant section at all!, ending up with a higher verbal score ) . So basically i fumbled on the timing and was getting tired staring at the screen for so long . I will start practicing questions from now on and take the MGMAT or GMATprep , to get a more realistic score. I am not giving up till I hit 740 at least ! Cheers, Viv

Hi BB, Well I took my first MGMAT CAT 1 today and scored a disappointing 600 (Q43 V31) Quant:43 Questions were much harder than expected and I was unable to finish the section( missed by 1 sec ! ).So I guess that would have hurt my score badly. Verbal: 31 SC went sort of fine I guess. ( 10 out of 15 right). RC : The first 3 passages turned out to be hardcore science! By the time I reached the 4th passage my brain was fried and I realized I had around 12 min for the last 10 questions or so, so literally skipped the passage guessing 4 questions in a row( which went all wrong), and I presume hit my score. CR: Got only half of them right. Well overall I messed up in timing and I know I could do better ( since this was the first time I took the CAT) . Hoping to hear any suggestions. Regards, Viv

Hi BB/All,
Took my MGMAT 2 today and score 630 (Q43 v33) .
I found the Quant section to be hard again.Does anyone know what Q43 will probably translate to on the real test?
Verbal : Did a lot better in CR, made silly mistakes in SC and quite bad on RC .Though this time around I could see improvements on my timing.
Will be taking the GMATPrep next saturday to see where I stand.
Regards, Viv

Regards, Viv MGMAT quant tends to be harder than the real thing. The questions generally require more calculation and brute force than actual GMAT questions.

Hi All,
I seek urgent advice.I just took my second GMAT prep today and scored 640 (Q48 V30). My exam is scheduled on Tuesday 23rd of April.
My target score is 700 ( worst come 680 at least). I know I cant reach 680 in a few days time but I feel my concepts are clear but I just need more practice to push my score higher
So do I go ahead and write the exam or do I postpone it for a month or month half later?
Thanks.
Regards, Viv

Hi All, Took the GMAT today and got a 620 (q48 and v 27). 48 in quant was expected but I was expecting verbal to come between 30 and 33 atleast ( which it was in my practice tests). Im going to take a break( have a holiday to Japan for a week from tmrw). So now that I have decided to give it one more shot , I am aiming for 680-700 in the next attempt in a months time or more. For Quant , I intend to to GMAT club tests and try to boost it from 48 ->49 or 50 For verbal, I guess im quite strong in SC but a bit weak in CR and RC. I just feel I need practice.I have no problem in timing during the exam. I intend to do the GMAT paper tests and take the remaining MGMATs ( I have 4 left) Can you suggest me more materials to practice with? Regards, Viv
