I was browsing nytimes online journal when I read the following line:

“It is the opinion of mainstream and state-of-the-art medicine and physiology that these claims are not only ludicrous but tantamount to fraud,”

Isnt the usage of not only wrong here? It should be not only ....but also.........
How to make out in such cases?

I have seen a similar SC question somewhere. If such a question appears in the exam, I will apply the rule of "not X, but Y".

It will depend on the answer choices provided. Let's hope that the GMAC will not trick us this way.
